At Praise Across Nations (“we,” “us,” “our”), we are committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of our clients, employees, and users (“you”). This Privacy Policy outlines our practices and responsibilities concerning the collection, use, disclosure, retention, and disposal of your personal information.

Our policy is designed to comply with the laws of Trinidad and Tobago, specifically the Data Protection Act, 2011 (Chapter 22:04). The object of this Act, and therefore this policy, is to ensure that your right to privacy is protected and your personal information is kept private.

We adhere to the General Privacy Principles outlined in Section 6 of the Data Protection Act. This means we are responsible for the personal information under our control and will handle it in accordance with the following principles:

  • Consent: Your knowledge and consent are required for the collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information.
  • Limited Collection: We will only collect personal information that is necessary for the purposes we have identified, and we will do so through lawful means.

Personal Information” is any recorded information about an identifiable individual. This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Information relating to race, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, age, or marital status.

  • Identifying numbers, such as a National ID number or driver’s permit number.
  • Biometric information, such as fingerprints or blood type.

Sensitive Personal Information” is a specific category that includes information on a person’s racial or ethnic origins, political affiliations, religious beliefs, health, sexual life, or criminal or financial record. We take extra precautions when handling this type of information.


4. How We Use and Disclose Your Information

We will only collect and use your personal information for purposes that are directly related to our operating programs and activities and for which you have provided consent. These purposes will be clearly stated at the time of collection.

We will not disclose your personal information to a third party without your consent, except where required or permitted by law. This includes situations such as:

  • Complying with a court order, subpoena, or warrant.
  • Aiding a law enforcement investigation.
  • In compelling circumstances affecting the health or safety of a person.

All personal information under our control is stored and accessed only in Trinidad and Tobago, unless one of the following conditions is met:

  • The other jurisdiction has comparable data protection safeguards as provided by the Act.

We will retain your personal information only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of the purposes for which it was collected or as prescribed by law. After this period, your information will be securely disposed of in accordance with government regulations.


6. Cross-Border Data Transfers

If we need to transfer your personal information to another country, we will first inform you of the purpose of the transfer and the identity of the person requesting it. We will not disclose the information without your consent.

If you consent, we will only proceed if we are satisfied that the receiving jurisdiction has data protection safeguards comparable to those in Trinidad and Tobago. If we are not satisfied, we will inform you and may refer the matter to the Information Commissioner for a determination.

  • Right of Access: You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
  • Right to Correction: If you believe there is an error or omission in your personal information, you may request that we correct it. If we do not make the correction, we will annotate your file to note that a correction was requested but not made.
